Union democracy defines the continuous process of participation, representation and information. A strong union is built with member participation and our members expect and deserve good stewardship for their union dues. Accountability is, therefore, a principle that plays a pivotal role at UFCW Local 102.
We understand that being accountable to our members and providing them with the best service possible create an atmosphere of commitment, solidarity, and action. I am also pleased to announce that we have taken steps to further increase communications by hiring Union Strategies Inc., a dynamic marketing and public relations company dedicated to helping unions enhance communications and boost their public profile. They will help manage our website and social media pages, and assist us in developing regular newsletters to keep you, the members, apprised of the latest news concerning your union.
One of our top priorities is to organize non-union workers. The real strength in our efforts lies largely in the active participation and involvement of our current membership. I am, therefore, kindly requesting and encouraging all our members to help our Local organize non-unionized employees to strengthen our union and bring about positive changes in our community.
